Ahmad Khalid Noori is excited to join the Institute for Families and Technology as the Operations and Executive Support Associate. In this role, he supports executive priorities, organizational operations, and cross-functional coordination, bringing a thoughtful blend of strategic execution,operational discipline, and mission-driven focus to help advance the Institute’s work and impact.
Noori’s career has been shaped by service, leadership, and a deep commitment to supporting others. A graduate of a military academy in India with a diploma in Defense Management and Strategic Studies,he served as a Captain in the Afghanistan National Army, where he commanded a company within the elite National Mission Unit and led high stakes operations in close partnership with U.S. Special Operations Forces. These experiences strengthened his ability to lead diverse teams, navigate complex environments, and make decision sunder pressure.
Following his military service,Noori transitioned his leadership experience into the nonprofit sector, most recently serving as a Program Strategist and Coordinator at Honor the Promise. In this role, he helped streamline programs supporting veterans and their families, coordinated cross-functional initiatives, and strengthened collaboration across teams and partners to improve impact and delivery. A technologist at heart, Noori is currently studying Information Technology at Northern Virginia Community College and holds certifications in project management and cybersecurity. He is passionate about the role technology can play in strengthening communities, improving systems,and supporting families in meaningful and practical ways.
When he isn't streamlining operations, Noori loves traveling, reading historical books, playing soccer, and playing Buzkashi (Featured in Rambo 3). He is also the subject of the documentary NOORI, a film that follows his poignant journey of transitioning from military to civilian life and searching for belonging in America leading up to the birth of his daughter. Above all, he cherishes spending time with Arshi. As a father, navigating the intersection of parenting and technology to ensure her digital safety is his highest priority, making the Institute’s mission both a professional focus and a personal dedication.
